Why is my website slow?

This is one of the most common support calls we receive. The website is static, slow or just going nowhere.

The biggest problem online at present is that it is easy to create a DOS attack or Denial Of Service as it is called. Another version called DDOS which is Distributive Denial Of Service is the same problem but using many computers to achieve the same result.

This clip from the BBC probably explains what is happening better than anything. In short it means that there is too much traffic for your hosting service to cope with. Whether it is artificially created or not is another matter.

  • Help desk ticket system -  limited to 10 tickets
  • Access to the knowledgebase both hosting and Web Platform (which is built up by questions received )
  • Minor development changes and code correction
  • Minor customisation and design alterations based on hourly limits to a maximum of 3 hours.
  • Component Installation and Module Installation Services*
  • Access to our skype support service by arrangement
  • Regular Site Backups, database, hosting checks, automated support and site monitoring
  • Facility to order more support as needed

In most cases the standard support is usually all that is needed for established sites. For new sites we would recommend the Superior Service Contract.

  • 30 Hours Support included for development, marketing, design or technical changes (Equivalent Value £1050)
  • Phone support including new out of hours emergency access support number.

Some development changes may be so significant in nature that an additional charge may be necessary. You will be advised before the work commences if that is the case.
